Announcing the mySugr Bundle in the U.S.

October 25, 2017 by Scott Johnson

Why do we love it? Because it combines great products and we never have to think about test strips again. Do you want in on it, too? Read on for more details.

What is the mySugr Bundle?

The mySugr Bundle is mySugr Pro, mySugr Coach, an Accu-Chek® Guide meter, and unlimited Guide test strips for $39.99/month. And when your strip supply runs low, we automatically send more. No orders, no prescriptions, and no insurance headache. In fact, no thought involved. Just cool convenience.

Leigh from Washington, D.C. says it’s the thing for her.
“I like the meter and knowing I can test as much as I want to…This is the first time in 30 years of diabetes that I’m testing regularly.”

Why the mySugr Bundle?

We made the mySugr Bundle to:

  • Provide anytime access to world-class diabetes educators. No appointment needed!
  • Unlock more tools. mySugr Pro means no limits or app restrictions!
  • Help you check as often as you want. Break free from limited insurance plans!
  • Give you high-quality test strips for a fixed, affordable cost. Always have as many as you need!
  • Remove the hassle of managing your strips. We do it for you!

How does the mySugr Bundle work?

Sign up and we’ll start your order right away. It’ll arrive in about five business days with an Accu-Chek® Guide meter, a FastClix lancing device, a box of lancets, and a bunch of Guide test strips to get you up and running.

In the meantime, mySugr Pro and mySugr Coach are available right away. You can get in touch with your coach through the mySugr app to answer questions or start working on a goal together. Once your package arrives, connect mySugr to the Accu-Chek® Guide meter and start checking your blood sugar as often as you want.

How do we know when you need more strips?

We start you off with a bunch of strips. Then we keep track of how many you’ve used through the meter connection to mySugr. We even thought about those times a strip didn’t work right or the meter said there wasn’t enough blood. You’ll get a new delivery of strips before you even notice you’re running low.

So sit back and relax, we’ve got you covered from start to finish.

More details

Does it make sense? Crunch the numbers!

If you normally use 3 strips per day that’s almost 2 boxes of Guide test strips each month which is about $60 retail. With the mySugr Bundle, you get unlimited strips for just $39.99 along with a reliable meter, unlimited help from a certified diabetes educator, and mySugr Pro! Of course, the more you check, the more you save.

How does Jess from Louisville, KY feel about it?
“I didn’t think I could afford the high-quality brands anymore. But now I have a meter I trust, more strips than ever before, and I’m saving cash. I love it.”

What does unlimited strips really mean?

Really, you get as many test strips as you need, and they’re automatically delivered. Check as often as you want, seriously! We’ve got your back!

How does the coaching work?

You have unlimited messaging with your coach via the mySugr app. All of the mySugr Coaches are certified diabetes educators who live with diabetes. Ask anything you like about your diabetes and your coach will dive into your data and start working on it. Within a single business day, your coach will reply with some feedback and ideas.

Together, you can conquer the world! Or at least come up with a plan for those annoying diabetes problems.

Is my smartphone compatible with the Accu-Chek® Guide meter?

Most iPhones are good to go, and lots of Android smartphones are fine. But not all of them. Please take a look before signing up. If your phone isn’t on the list, please let us know, we might be able to help each other…

Can I cancel my subscription?

Of course! You’re in total control and can cancel anytime. Just email our support team. Your subscription will stop at the end of the last active month in your plan.

The mySugr Bundle is one small step in our mission to make diabetes suck less. We know there’s still a LOT of room for improvement in many other areas of your life with diabetes. We’re working on it. I promise.

In the meantime, we’d love to continue learning from you. If you’re willing, please share your feedback in the comments or in a message to our support team:

  • Tia Bookal

Is there anyway that one would be able to get just a MySugr coach?

  • Hi, Tia!
Perhaps at some point, but not at this time.
Thanks for asking, though! Stay tuned!

  • Donna Leigh Watson

    Does my insurance cover this?

  • Alison Swartzfager-Myers

This is like the gold mine of diabetes testing supplies! While I have some of the best insurance there is out there, it provides really poor coverage for diabetics and doesn’t cover glucose meters, strips, or lancets whatsoever! I have to pay for everything 100% out of pocket, which can be really expensive and sometimes I simply have to go without because we simply cannot afford the expense. And I like to test a lot – like after I workout, before and after every meal, before bed, etc – because that’s when I have the best control. This would make that possible without breaking the bank, PLUS I’ll actually have someone who’s been-there-done-that to ask questions to… This almost seems too good to be true, but I cannot wait to get signed up and try it for myself 🙂 Thank you for sharing this!!!!

  • R Garcia

What if I test upwards of 8 to 10x a day. Sometimes more if I’m sick or have a really busy day.

  • Yep! That’s no problem. We’ve got you covered.

  • Hi Donna,
This is a direct, cash offer. No prescription required, no insurance hassle. That being said, if you want to approach your insurance company to inquire about reimbursement, you are welcome to do that on your own.

  • Yay, Alison! So glad to hear that this will help! Keep us posted on how it goes for you!

How many strips are sent at a time? What about lancets? I’m in Canada, how can I take advantage of this?

  • Hi! The welcome kit includes 5 boxes of 50 Guide test strips, an Accu-Chek Guide meter, a FastClix lancing device and a box of 100(+2) lancets. From that point on, the amount of strips you receive is personalized based on how many you use and is shipped on a quarterly basis (or more often if necessary). We’re always keeping track of it for you via the in-app synchronization, so if you hit a rough patch or get sick and suddenly your testing behavior changes, we’ll notice and get more strips to you before you even notice you’re running low.

Unfortunately, this isn’t available yet in Canada. We hope to expand the offering soon, though!

  • Matt G

I have a supply of existing supplies I need to use up over the next couple of months, but I will be joining ASAP. This is fantastic and I’m telling everyone I know who has diabetes!

  • Awesome, Matt! You’re a rockstar. See you soon! And thank you!

  • viciouslancer

Shipped quarterly… I do have a mailbox (it’s at a storage facility, so proper mailing address) in Niagara Falls, NY. I’m about 2 hours from there. I wouldn’t mind making a quarterly trip – but this means about 600-700 strips per shipment (if I’m testing at every meal & before bed)?

    2x (pre/post meal) per meal (6) + before bed (1) is a minimum of 7 per day, or 210 strips for 30 days = 630 for 90 days (1 quarter)

I’ve been taught to discard lancets after one use, so it should be a 1:1 ratio of strips and lancets? or can these actually be reused without dulling/infection?

  • We send as many strips as needed based on what you use (counted via the synchronization between the meter mySugr app), so there’s no worry about the quantity of strips. If you check a lot, we send a lot! I have to officially say that this offer is officially open to the United States. I can’t comment any further than that.

Regarding the lancets… you are a rare breed! 7 of 10 people with diabetes I’ve met in my time change lancets *maybe* twice a year. Maybe. But if your doctor/educator recommends changing more often, you should definitely follow their instruction. That being said, what comes with the mySugr Bundle Starter Kit is a box of 100(+2) FastClix lancets. For most of us, that’s a lifetime supply. (I’m teasing. But only a little bit. 🙂 )

Has anyone had any issues paying via a FSA?

  • Carolyn Ellickson-Herme

I would love to join, but I can’t afford $40 a month. I was lucky that a good friend of mine paid for the MySugr app for a year. I really could use a better system then what I use now. And I know I can’t get it through my Inc. They keep changing things I can do to lower their cost. Like I can only test two times a day. Maybe someday I’ll afford this.

  • Our understanding is that HSA’s and some FSA’s typically do cover test strips as an OTC allowable without the need for a prescription. However, you may need to have a prescription simply for the purposes of if you were to be audited, you would need to prove you had a medical need for the subscription.

Our suggestion would be to call your benefits manager first to confirm that they will reimburse for the monthly subscription since it will be providing test strips to you, rather than you going to a pharmacy to get them.
    Hope that helps a bit!

  • Thanks for sharing, Carolyn! And we’re always working on ways to make everything more affordable. Stay tuned!

  • bgoodsoky

I just tried to join but ran into a problem because your payment processing is apparently based in Europe. I’ll try contacting my bank tomorrow to see if I can get it approved.

  • Hi! Bummer! Sorry that we’re causing you trouble. You’re right, our worldwide HQ is based in Vienna. We’re working on a better solution and hope to have more options soon.
