Join their JDRF Walk for the cure, Cardiff, from anywhere in the World!

Calling all Monster Tamers! We have a wonderful trifecta of awesome that we are excited to tell you about!

You most likely already know about our love for JDRF, the worlds #1 charity organization working on a cure for type 1, right? Through the JDRF Walks, fellow type 1′s, their friends and family have been able to raise millions a year to dedicate to bleeding edge research – and now you can participate in one of them from within mySugr Companion for iOS!

Through the magic of Partner Challenges, we are teaming up with the proud people of Cardiff, Wales, UK, who are hosting a Walk on October 27th. Can you help make it one of the biggest walks in the UK? We’d like to think so!

By joining them in this challenge, no matter where in the world you are, you’ll be boosting the mySugr Community challenge (that means we send more cash to JDRF)!

How does it work?

It’s super easy. Start the challenge and then find a way to get active for at least 30 minutes, maybe by mmmm… walking? ;) Log your activity and BAM! You are not only feeling better, you actually did something awesome! You can boost the teams in the JDRF Walk for a Cure in Cardiff even if you are hundreds or even thousands of miles away. Doesn’t it just blow your mind?!

This project has given me the opportunity to visit with a real champion of a guy who also lives with type 1 diabetes, Paul Coker, who’s led the charge to organize the JDRF Walk for a Cure in Cardiff.

He was diagnosed at five years old, just like me, and we bonded while talking about the many positive changes we’ve seen over the past decades. He recently completed his first half marathon, and I couldn’t be more proud of him (way to go, Paul!).

Maybe you’re actually close to Cardiff? Well that’s even better! You can participate in this challenge AND attend the walk there! Do it! Do it!

If you’re like me, and are about 4,000 miles (6400 kilos) away, mySugr Companion can get you involved no matter how far away you are. Jump into your challenges menu and look for the burning sneaker!

Let’s do this.

Please consider making a donation - the proud people of Cardiff appreciate it, and so do we!
